Summary

This case study showcases the transformation of a factory floor by WJ Industrial. We were approached by a client with a dirty, dusty factory floor lacking anti-slip measures and substrate protection. To meet the client’s needs, WJ Industrial recommended a protective paint system and executed the project with minimal disruption to the client’s operations.

Objectives

Factory floors in warehouses and storage premises endure heavy foot traffic, equipment movement, and loading strains. The client’s floor, bearing the signs of such rigorous use, required a quality solution that could withstand these conditions. The aim was to provide a fully functional, durable, and aesthetically appealing floor.

Solution

The first step was to captive blast the floor to clean up the concrete. Once an acceptable level of clean concrete was achieved, the floor was primed before applying an epoxy high build coating twice, as per the manufacturer’s specification. This high build coating, available in various colours, doesn’t flake and even conceals scratches due to its solid colour throughout.

Results

The project’s outcome was a successful transformation of the factory floor. The new, enhanced floor prevents dust and extends the floor’s lifespan, improving its aesthetics post refurbishment. The floor, made to resist daily impact, abrasion, and various substance exposure, can handle spillages without leaving marks post clean-up. The implementation of this solution aligns with WJ Industrial’s commitment to delivering hardwearing and aesthetically appealing flooring solutions.
