Objectives

WJ Industrial were approached to provide a superior-quality antiskid application for both the roadway and the footway sections of the bridge. All while addressing the challenges of time-sensitive operations due to the logistics of multiple river crossings in a day and ensuring the bridge’s safety and longevity through meticulous application techniques.

Solutions

Leveraging their expertise, WJ Industrial deployed captive shot blasting using diesel ride-on machines for work preparation. Following surface preparation, we applied Beegrip Bimagrip LS & HD, ensuring a robust and long-lasting grip on the unique build-up application tailored to the specific requirements of both the roadway (20mm) and the footway (8mm). Strategic planning was key throughout the project, which entailed a significant portion of the work being executed in Ghent before being transferred to Great Yarmouth, maximising efficiency while ensuring quality.

Results

Through strategic planning, advanced methodologies, and unparalleled expertise, WJ Industrial delivered a superior antiskid solution for the Herring Bridge. This not only ensures the safety and durability of the bridge but also underscores WJ Industrial’s reputation as a leader in surface preparation and applications.

Our work on the Great Yarmouth Third River Crossing stands as a testament to WJ Industrial’s commitment to precision, quality, and innovative solutions. We’re proud to have contributed to a project that promises enhanced safety and efficiency for the community.
